Shoppers go to discount stores like ALDI for lower prices on groceries, milk and eggs.
But these days, some savvy shoppers are also picking up some affordable fashion items along the way. Have you seen the “dress”?
No, not Princess Diana’s famous black “revenge dress” or J-Lo’s revealing Versace dress she wore to the Grammys.
We’re talking about the “ALDI Glitter Dress”, shared by hundreds of dedicated ALDI shoppers on social media.
Melinda Rosario wore hers to a holiday party and then on a cruise.
Dolores Ramiriz, who we found grocery shopping at ALDI, says she also grabbed the dress.
– For Christmas – Ramiriz told us. – I wore it on Christmas.
A stunning dress for under $13
So what’s the dress everyone’s buzzing about?
A modern knot front dress that ALDI shoppers found just before the holidays for just $12.99. This is not a typo: twelve dollars and ninety-nine cents.

Jamie Miles of Passionate Penny Pincher.com says the dress was not only affordable, but also figure-hugging, like other ALDI fashion finds like cardigans, pajamas and workout gear.
“It was just a fun piece of clothing, it was a sparkly dress and it was the holidays,” she said of the unexpected sales hit.
“All body types could wear it,” she explained. “They weren’t exclusive and put out something that only one body type could wear.”
What we wanted to find out is if this ALDI dress is part of a larger trend, with shoppers finding clothes in discount stories like ALDI or Costco, stores you normally associate with groceries!”
Vanderbilt University marketing professor Kelly Goldsmith says that’s something major apparel retailers are watching and paying attention to in this time of high inflation.
“Consumers may now be less willing to spend on a high-end luxury dress,” she said. “What does that tell other stores? It tells them that ALDI isn’t necessarily a fashion threat, but that they’re really seeing a shift in consumer sentiment.”

Unfortunately, it was offered in limited edition, much like other clothing items that Delores Ramiriz and her daughter recently found at ALDI.
“We have boots and shoes,” Ramiriz said.
So when you find a good deal like a “dress”, grab it before it’s gone.
And that way you don’t waste money.
