One week into 2023, insiders are already seeing several standout players who are sure to emerge this season and beyond.

“Good Morning America” ​​tapped style expert Jenee Naylor, creator of the online community HighLowLuxxe, as well as fashion stylist and style expert Naina Singlu to find out which specific trends to look out for and how to potentially add them to your wardrobe.

If you’re struggling to style your winter wardrobe or figure out how to incorporate new trends, Naylor told “GMA” that finding inspiration on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest is key. She also mentioned the importance of understanding your personal style.

“Determining your personal style can unlock a lot of inner creativity,” she said. “Again, Pinterest is a great tool to help. Take some time to explore the app and focus on pinning the clothes you would wear right now. Pay attention to what catches your eye the most and see if there are any trends: lots of jackets, certain colors, skin textures? It will give you a good basis for what you like, how to put the look together and most importantly, what to buy.”

Singla suggests testing trends before trying to fully commit to any one. “Before you go out and buy new trendy pieces that may not suit your style, experiment with some of these trends with items you may already have in your closet,” she said.

“This trend pays homage to one of my favorite fashion eras ever: the late ’90s and early 2000s,” said Naylor. “Between futuristic chrome colors and various foil-like textures and fabrics, metallics are definitely in fashion this season. The right metallic piece, whether it’s a leather jacket or over-the-knee boots, can really add that ‘casual but extra’ feel to any outfit. Especially silver will get its deserved spotlight in 2023.”

“While leather is not a new trend … we are also seeing it in other types of outerwear and shoes,” Singla said. “Some of the most popular items are biker style staples such as moto jackets, high boots and designer leather pants [like] Diesel and Alexander McQueen, as well as Spring/Summer 2023 by designer Donatella Versace.”

Singla’s style tip for the “outfit formula”: “One way to implement this approach is to choose a versatile piece like a leather jacket, as it goes well with almost everything in your wardrobe. She continued, “I personally love a good maxi dress because you can easily dress it up or down depending on the occasion. Not to mention, this trend isn’t necessarily limited to just one aesthetic. Whether your personal style is more minimalistic, casual, or even the glamorous maxi skirt offers something for everyone.”

“Another trend that will remain popular in Spring/Summer 2023 is sheer clothing. It transitions easily from casual to work to weekend wear. It’s a feminine style that adds a subtle hint of intrigue to any look,” said Singla.

Singla’s style tip for see-through clothing: “One way to try this is to layer long or short sleeved sheer blouses over a tank top or tank top. “The eternal trend that is always in fashion is minimalism in the form of elevated basics,” said Singla. “We’ll continue to see the influence of ’90s minimalism on everyday wear, including basic jeans and tees. One example of an elevated basic piece is this ribbed tee in white or black. This simple, high-quality piece can easily be elevated when worn with sustainable with investment pieces like a gorgeous pair of ballet flats or a beautiful statement bag. Just add jeans and a classic tailored black blazer, and you’ve created a great formula for an outfit that can go from day to night.”
