Figure skating is back with a bang SBSwith the Australian crowd set for five consecutive days of action at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Espoo, Finland as the month of January draws to a close.
A weekend of extended highlights from the recent ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix held in the same city comes to your screens on the afternoons of Saturday, January 21st and Sunday, January 22nd SBSbefore LIVE coverage of the European Championships begins next Wednesday, January 25 SBS on request.
Events will include singles, pairs and ice dancing over the first four days of competition, as the brightest male and female stars of European figure skating battle it out over the eight events taking place. This will culminate in the traditional Day 5 exhibition, which Australians can watch on Sunday 29 January from 11.15pm (AEDT) live on SBS on request.
The hour-and-a-half extended highlights series will air next weekend on SBS from 15:00-16:30 (AEDT) on Saturday 4 February and Sunday 5 February, giving audiences the perfect opportunity to catch up on the action they’ve missed from the five-day event.
The competition should tie in nicely with the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Colorado Springs, which runs from Friday, February 10 to Monday, February 13, with broadcast details to be announced at a later date.
