North Country Smokehouse Appoints Director of National Business Development

Jason Belleau to stimulate growth through strategic business partnerships

CLAREMONT, NH, January 10, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — North Country Smokehouse welcomes you Jason Belleau as the new director of National Business Development. Having experienced significant growth since its 2015 acquisition by parent company duBreton, NCS aims to continue its trajectory through new and valued partnerships.

In his role, Jason will be responsible for driving strategic growth, new line design and special projects. He will represent both brands in Certified Humane Raised & Handled® and USDA Organic®, fresh and further processed pork.

Jason joins the team after a nearly 30-year career with Whole Foods Market, most recently as executive manager of meat and poultry. “I’ve worked with both brands a lot over the years,” says Belleau. “Whole Foods Market named duBreton the 2020 National Perishable Supplier of the Year. Their fresh ground pork is on shelves across the country, as well as an assortment of fresh cuts that vary by region. NCS was named Local Supplier of the Year in 2019 and they just went national a few months ago with their humanely raised applewood smoked bacon and organic ham steak.” Jason describes the family business as easy to work with. “Being a vertically integrated company means more control and better communication. Their innovation and incredible dexterity, which is something you don’t see very often. I considered them a true partner. Now it’s my job to create new partnerships on their behalf and I’m eager to get started. ” concludes.

Jason brings with him an extensive industry list and a solid understanding of the better-for-you protein category. When asked what ultimately led him to join the team, he said, “The opportunity for personal and professional growth attracted me initially. The leadership team and the desire to make the programs the best in the industry were successful in that.”
